Every Tuesday over at http://thissoutherngirlsnest.blogspot.com/
Joanna is doing 52 weeks of cookies. This is only week 5 so you have plenty of time to join us. What a great way of finding new recipes especially now with the holidays right around the corner.
Mine for this week is one of my favorites. I remember my Mom teaching me how to make them and then every time we had unexpected company to drop in guess what I got to make. They are so quick and simple.
No Bake Cookies
2 cups sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
1 stick margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter (smooth)
3 cups quick oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Boil sugar, cocoa, margarine, and milk. Add peanut butter, vanilla, and pecans. Remove from heat. Stir until peanut butter is melted and smooth. Stir in oatmeal. Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper to set.
Oh, my goodness! I used to eat those in my school cafeteria when I was a kid and loved them! I have looked far and wide for the recipe. Thank you SO much! I can't wait to make them!
ReplyDeleteHum sounds like a great thing. I need to get some new staples around here (cocoa & baking powder). Every recipe I see calls for one or the other & its the only ingredients I don't have.
ReplyDeleteYumm cookies. You got my attention :) I just launched a blog for moms and I am doing a giveaway this week. Come on by and check it out. Its open to everyone. I am going to check out your daughters giveaway as well. At least give her some support. The new bloggers need it!
ReplyDeleteI have made them before and yes they are delish. Now you got me wanting to make some now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to live in CA! That's one of my favorite states.
ReplyDeleteSooo glad to find the recipe for no-bakes! My mom made these, and I've been looking for the recipe for a while now.
Blessings,
Debby
OH MY WORD!!! No bake????? I'm off tomorrow and guess what I think I'm going to make...wink wink. The only thing I'm missing is pecans but it says optional so I'll opt out this time - ha ha. Anything with peanut butter and I about drool on myself. Thanks for sharing that ~ ♥
ReplyDeleteOooooooo, I think I remember having these before! My boys will love making these babies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
~Misti
Yeah more cookie recipes to add to the amazing collection I have acquired over the years. The best part about the no baking is that it's great for kids to help make. Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteLove and Hugs ~ Kat
Ok, you've made me hungry! Will need to make these--it's been so long.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
