Happy Graduation Michael !!!!!!!!!!!

It's hard to believe my son Michael is graduating from High School today. Thirteen years ago as he started Kindergarten he cried everyday for the first week. At that time we were calling him Anthony because he is a JR. and we didn't want any confusion. Well after a week of Kindergarten his teacher asked me what was she to call him. He's signing his papers Michael. So we all agreed he would then be called Michael. Except for his Grandma, she still calls him Anthony, she just can't get in the habit of calling him Michael. He was a very smart child even back then. When asked to recite the alphabet he asked his teacher frontwards or backwards. But somehow over the years he has lost that confidence of thinking he's still that smart. They say the more brain smart you are the less common sense you have. So he must be a genius. At this new step in his life he has often pondered what his future holds. Whether to join the Air Force. Go to college, not really knowing what he would major in, or either Culinary School. Or just go to work and try to make the best of it with the way the economy is. But the one thing I keep telling him, is to pray about it. Because if he's not in the will of God he's going to be a very miserable young man. Only God knows the future for him, and the rest of us. So no matter what others tell you to do or suggest for you to do. You need to pray and listen to what God tells you to do. "A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump: a God-shaped life is a flourishing tree." Proverbs 11:28 If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by His purpose and for His purpose. Many times he thought I didn't believe in him. When I would fuss at him about failing grades. But it wasn't that I didn't believe in him, it was because I knew he had it in him to be great, if only he would. To him it was fussing, but maybe to any other teen-age boy it would have been that too. But Michael, even though I probably haven't ever said it near enough, I am so very very proud of you. Wherever life takes you, there's going to be rough times. But always remember your creator and that he said I will never leave you nor forsake you.

We love you Michael, and God does too.

Makayla and her best friend at the accelerated reader carnival yesterday.

And of course can't leave out recent pics of Emily. Can you believe she will be 3 months old Tuesday?
So precious!!!!!!!!

Oops sorry I forgot that we had my step-son's birthday last Saturday. Sorry it's been a busy week.

Complaining

Lately it seems that everybody is complaining about something. We complain if it rains too much, in which if you have been in certain parts of the south we have had rain almost everyday for over a week. We complain if it doesn't rain. If it's too hot or too cold.
I told my husband the other day that I really don't believe God created this world and put us on it to complain about when he makes it rain, or not rain. or if were too hot or too cold.
Yesterday while at Makayla's school for their ice cream social. I was dipping the ice cream and one child said "put alot in mine" and the child behind him said, "be thankful for what you get". I said that's right. He said yep because there's some kids out there that don't have any ice cream. It's a shame that some 3rd graders realize how to be more thankful than grown-ups.
We have so much to be grateful and don't even realize it. So I will leave you with this.
God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say "thank you?" ~William A. Ward

Weekend

I have had one of the best weekends I've had in quite a while. First,it started out Friday evening, Makayla had a sleepover at her friend's house so hubby and I had the rare treat of going out alone. We decided to go out to eat somewhere we had never been before The Millhouse. On the scale of 1-10 I would give it a 3. They have such a variety it's an overkill. I decided to get fried shrimp, and they were mostly breading and very crunchy. My husband enjoyed the ribs, that he had. While we were waiting for our food to get ready my husband's boss and his family came in. They talked for awhile and went to their table. We ate our dinner and was waiting for our check when our waiter came back and told us that he had just been informed that the gentleman across the room had taken care of our meal. In which was my husband's boss. What a blessing that was. So then not knowing what to do, not really a movie we wanted to go see. We went to the local auction. That was a hoot. Somebody has been buying alot of those $9.95 infomercials. lol
Saturday we woke up early enough to go to yard sales. woo hoo!!!! The best deal we got there was a scanner/printer/fax for $10.00.
Finally yesterday, we had been looking for a washer and dryer. Our washer died a couple of weeks ago, and the laundromat is definitely not any fun.
I received an e-mail through Craigslist of someone having a Whirlpool Washer and Dryer only 6 months old. They were moving to Germany and had to get rid of them. We did good!!!! They were asking for $400.00 or make an offer. We got them both for $250.00. They look brand new.
So another wonderfully blessed weekend for me.

Finally a new computer

Our computer crashed a couple of weeks ago and I've been using my husband's laptop. When he was at home. He's working out of town alot these days. Well today we finally got another one. WooHoo!!!!!!
Maybe I was getting too addicted to it and came to realize that I can go a day or two without one. lol
I had a great Mother's Day weekend. We spent Saturday afternoon with my Mom. And the journal jar that I had given her for Christmas, she has put it in book form, and gave it to me to read. I cried and I laughed. It was awesome. Now I'm to return because she has decided that she wants to add more to it. I told her it seemed to be directed more to me and she said well you were the one that gave it to me. So I've convinced her to write one for my brothers, and possibly my sister. And give them to us this Christmas. Brandi, shh don't tell your Dad. lol
Then yesterday, was of course church and then we had lunch with my mother-in-law. She wrote me an awesome note in my card. I have never been loved and accepted by such wonderful in-laws as I have this time.
Then when we got home, it was gifts. The kids gave me okay don't laugh too hard. But it was the two things I requested. A set of bathroom scales, in which I love them there digital so there's no guessing of if I gained or lost weight the previous week. And the other was a small George foreman grill, well hubby goofed and bought a panini grill, but I'm returning for the grill I want. So I can grill my meals, when he is out of town working.
Then Megan, Denny, and Emily came over and they gave me some great Calphalon cookie sheets. I wonder if she's hinting for some home-made cookies. lol I doubt it because she's a very good cook. Their just slowly giving me great bake ware. Because Christmas before last they gave me 6 Wilton cake pans, so it would be easier to make my 12-layer chocolate cake.
So even though it's a day late I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Giveaway Win Package

I received my package in the mail yesterday that I had won over at http://tidymomof2.blogspot.com/2009/04/inplace-system-by-peter-walsh-giveaway.html

With everything that has been going on lately, I had forgotten about it. It was such a surprise when the mail lady came knocking on the door. Now to find uses for everything that was in it. I can't wait to get everything organized in it. Makayla loves the 2 rubber band balls. She decided to make them into one big ball and to her delight under all the rubber bands was a big bounce ball.
