Less postage than regular Christmas cards. Also Christmas cards are put away after Christmas and aren't thought of again until the next year when you drag all the Christmas decorations out. But a Christmas postcard with a family picture on the front of it could be framed after Christmas. Or if you know of someone who put things on their fridge, a Christmas postcard with a family pic on it can be placed on your relatives refrigerator.
