Summer is flying by way too fast.

It seems like the summer is going  by faster and faster every year.  Makayla's last day of school was at the end of May and she goes back at the beginning of August.  Only a two month break, whatever happened to having three months?
It seems like we never slow down but don't really do a whole lot.  So just a quick re-cap of our summer so far.  The birth of our grandson Everett, and the wedding of Chris and Shanea.   Makayla and I have went to see a couple of movies Monte Carlo, and Mr. Poppers.  They were both very cute family movies.   She's had two field trips with 4-H.  Today is one of them, she will be touring a bakery and decorating a cake.  Yum!!!  We spent the 4th of July at the local water park and then went back that night and watched the fireworks.
This week is Vacation Bible School, and I am teaching the 3-4 year old.  It's a blast but tiring, but well worth all the work everyone puts into it.
I guess that about sums up our summer so far.  Hopefully soon I will have time to post some pictures of Chris and Shanea's wedding.

I'm Nana again!!!

Megan finally had the baby today.  She called me about 3:00 this morning to come be with Emily while she and Denny went to the birthing center.  They got to the birthing center about 5:00 and she was already 7 centimeters.  So we thought it wouldn't take long before he was born.  Denny called me at 9:00 and said they had been sent to a hospital in an ambulance that there were some complications.
Finally Megan called me a little after 11:00 from recovery.  They had to do a c-section, but Megan did great considering she wanted it to be a natural birth.
They still have decided on a name, but I call him a sumo wrestler.  He weighed 10lbs and 3 ounces and is 22 inches long.  He won't wear any of his newborn clothing.  The pediatric Doctor on-call said he looks to be two months old already.
But thankfully Mom and baby are doing great.
I still can't get any pictures to upload so if you have a facebook you can find some on there that I shared from Megan's page..   Just email me if you need to.

Be prepared...............VENTING

All along the Doctor has known that I don't have insurance and that I'm self-pay.  Go through previous procedures with minimal payment other than D&C.  It nearly drained my wonderful Mil's savings account.  So today I go in for another test, and meet with the surgery co-ordinator.  She has the wonderful job of telling me that the hysterectomy will cost me 9410.00, but if we can pay in full it will be 20% off.  If not then we need at least half by pre-op.
While in the office I couldn't help but notice all the young girls pregnant and seeing them on medicaid.  I'm sorry but it's frustrating to know they made a choice to have a baby.  I don't have the choice of having to have surgery.
On a brighter note.  Megan had her check-up yesterday.  She is completely effaced and dialated to three.  So the only thing holding him in is no contractions and her water hasn't broke.  So hopefully our grandson will be here soon and I won't have to worry about other stuff for a few days.

It's a ...........................

Amongst Linda being released from the hospital and coming to live with us, Christmas and New Year's, and the kids being out of school for almost three weeks.  I had forgotten to blog about some very exciting news.
Emily is going to have a little brother.  Megan and Denny is expecting their second child at the end of May.
It doesn't seem like it's been that long since Emily was a baby, but she will be 2 in March.

We're all so excited and can't wait to spoil him just like we have  Emily.  But as they say the best part of being a grandparent is spoiling them and then sending them home.

Megan the Photographer

It's been a while since I blogged about Megan.  Probably not since she had Emily and that's almost 19 months ago.   WOW!!  That made me realize I haven't posted any new pictures on here lately either.
Anyways Megan has decided to go into the photography business.  So if you will go check out her new photography website.  We all remember what it was like just starting out on a new venture.  So go show her some love.
I may be just a little bias because I'm her Mom, but I think she takes wonderful pictures, and has a lot of potential.

Don't forget about my current giveaway ending Monday.

Baby Pictures

Megan has posted pictures on her blog today of Emily. As in previous blog I said no information until she put it on hers.
Emily Willow was born Monday March 2nd at 11:30 pm. She weighed 8 lbs and 3 ounces and 21 inches long. She is so beautiful. Go take a look here and see for yourself.
I just saw her again last night and I miss her already. I'm sure I was just as happy and full of love when all three of mine were born. But there's just something about a grandbaby. As we sat waiting at the Birthing Center Monday, I told my Mom I've never been on this side of it before. Waiting for my baby to have a baby. Their's a sense of helplessness. I wanted to make it go fast, easy, and painless for her. But yet her words after 21 hours of labor was it wasn't that bad. Just like any other Mother, once you hold that miracle in your arms all pain is forgotten.

NEW ARRIVAL

I've finally stopped long enough to blog.  Not giving much information, leaving that for the "New Mom" Megan .
All I will say after 21 hours of labor, and six and a half of those being hard contractions. At 11:30 last night, Baby girl is "finally" here.   Mama, Daddy, and Baby girl is doing great.  She is so beautiful.  A headful of black hair. I can't wait to spoil her.

Baby Books

My oldest daughter Megan has been wanting two certain books for the baby. You know the one that's three days past her due date. One was Goodnight Moon, and the other one we couldn't think of the name of it. Until Tuesday when http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com/ posted on her blog about the exact book. Love you forever.

So yesterday morning I set out to find these two books for Megan to read to baby girl. Megan had been down the last couple of days, just plain out miserable. So unknown to me she had gotten up and went shopping about the same time I did. When I found the books I texted her and caught up with her at Hobby Lobby. The look on her face, in which I haven't gotten so good at this stuff yet as carrying my camera with me everywhere. But I truly believe it helped to lift her spirits.
She has an appointment today with the mid-wife. So prayerfully she will be ready by then. If not it's going to be a really long weekend.
Will keep y'all posted.

My Three Children

I'm wondering how can three children from the same parents be so different. Megan my oldest has always been laid-back, easy going. But not lazy, whatever she puts her mind to doing, somehow it will get done.
Never into any trouble for the most part. A good head on her shoulders most of the time. We had our normal teen-age years, you know the ones. Nobody can tell them anything, they know it all. But I don't think the rough part lasted more than a year.
And now she has grown into an intellegent, beautiful woman, that's going to be a Mommy any day now.

Then there's the middle child, the only boy, Michael, he's 18. Like a torpedo, full speed ahead. When he was younger I always said from the time his feet hit the floor in the morning until his head hit the pillow at night he was non-stop. And now he is so head-strong, and argumentive about everything. You could tell him the sky is blue and he would argue with you that there was some white in it too. Every day it seems we butt heads about something, and most of the time it's the most trivial things. But he just has to argue his point, to no end. And getting to his point. Oh my it's never ending. I think sometimes he could make a preacher drink because I know there's days I've thought about calling Megan and tell her to fix
me one. Where did I go so wrong with him? Why did he have to be the one
to be 100% like his Dad?  Why couldn't he have been more like my side
of the family?  Quiet, easy-going, laid-back? I know they can't all be
alike.  But he could have been a little like my side of the family.
Maybe he should be a lawyer
since he likes to argue so much.

Then the youngest one. A girl, Makayla. A surprise to all of us when I had her. She's another torpedo, for lack of another word. Wide-open all the time never slows down until she goes to sleep.
She's only eight but sometimes I think she's already a teenager. Her moods, oh my goodness. You would think she was hormonal already. Five more years until she's a teenager.
She has a best friend at school, which happens to be a boy. They were in class together last year, and this year. Field trips, playground, lunch, it doesn't matter. If you see one, you see the other.
Then this year, the buying each other stuff started.
They had to buy each other Christmas presents, which I thought was cute. Then came Valentine's and yes we had to buy a present again. Yesterday she comes home from school, and they've exchanged phone numbers. They know everything about each other. I have never seen two people so young talk about so much.

How will I ever survive her teenage years?

Still waiting

Well no baby was born this weekend. Megan's actual due date is tomorrow, but we really thought just maybe she would go in labor this weekend. So yes technically she's not late yet.
But anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a now person, I have "NO" patience. But this little girl is definetly teaching us all to be patient.
I just hate seeing Megan so miserable. She's carrying her so low it's putting a lot of pressure on her  back. Just pray that she delivers soon, and all goes well for her and the baby.

My day

I spent my day with two of my most favorite people. My Mom came over this morning and we went and picked Megan up. We had breakfast together and then just walked through different stores. (Babies, and Bellies, a consignment store, etc) Looking at what else, other than baby girl stuff. Maybe we walked Megan enough that it will help her go into labor. lol But we know that's an old wives tale just like being born when it's a full moon. In which that was Monday night so she's not going to be born while the moon is full. I told Megan the other day that the baby would be late being born because she is late to "everything". Needless to say she didn't find that very funny. She is one miserable hormonal pregnant woman right now. And I know I got on her nerves today because of being so protective. But this is my first grandchild, I will try to be better once she's here. I promise.
