It's Back...........WOOHOO!!!!! Random Dozen

Random Dozen is back and if you've never joined in, you should.   It's a great way to learn more about fellow bloggers.


1. When was the last time you laughed until you cried?

Can't really remember, maybe at a movie.

2. If you found $10 today, what would you do with it?

Not really sure, maybe buy some yarn for crocheting haven't bought any in a while.

3. Do you volunteer anywhere?
 No I have signed up to help with the local ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease) but so far haven't actually volunteered any of my time.  But speaking of which if you shop at Kroger they will be selling $1.00 red paper sneakers until August 21st, for the ALS foundation.

4. What is your favorite summertime veggie or fruit, and how do you eat it?

fruit would be watermelon, has to be very cold and absolutely not salted.

5. Is your social sphere (circle of friends) small, medium or large?

I would say small.   I would rather have a few very close friends than a large group of acquaintances.

6. When was the last time you attended a family or school reunion? How did that go?

July 10th.  It started out as a birthday celebration for my Mom's "75th" birthday and she said I don't want anything make it a family reunion.

 

7. When you're feeling blue, what is the best way someone can cheer you up?

Either tell me something funny or remind me of something that happened that was funny.

8. Have you taken a vacation this summer?

Unfortunately not.  We did take a day trip to a local water park and a weekend to a beach.  But that about sums it up.

9. What is the most unnecessary item you carry with you all the time?

I can't think of anything.  A must is phone, keys and purse but that's all necessary.  Off the wall would be this extra weight that I carry around with me.

10. What is the best summer flick you have seen so far?

Well the only movies I've seen was with Makayla, so it would be a kid's movie.  A toss-up between Despicable Me and Ramona.

11. Describe a perfect summer day.

A lazy stress-free day with family.

Chris, a new blog, and a giveaway

I've decided to add a new blog, one just for prayer requests, and praises of the prayers answered.  You can find it here.  If at anytime you have a prayer request you would like added please let me know.  Either through a comment or e-mail.  I've moved all my prayer requests post over there so the ones here will be deleted soon.

Chris has been moved to a regular room but is still unable to talk.  They feel certain it is from the tubes being in his throat for almost three weeks.  That is throat is irritated and sore but just a matter of time before it's better.

The Penguins of Madagascar DVD Giveaway

It's time for another giveaway.   Blogsparks sent  me a box of Trix cereal, two launchers,  and The Penguins of Madagascar DVD.   We love having movie night with a bowl of popcorn with M&M's in it.  Yes the sweet and salty is wonderful.   Sometimes we have even added pretzels and goldfish snacks.

Inside specially marked boxes of General Mills cereals, you’ll “commence operations” with one of five characters from The Penguins of Madagascar; Skipper, Rico, Kowalski, Private or King Julien. Each participating cereal contains one character launcher with mission details outlined on the back of the box including:

Dive In, Soldier – Set an empty plastic cereal bowl on the table and try to pop your launcher into it. Wear a helmet or you’ll be squid bait.
Longest Propulsion Launcher – Challenge your troops to see who can launch their character the furthest. Go long or go back to the zoo.

Target Practice – Create a landing zone with a spoon and try to strategically drop your character into the sweet spot. Hit the target or go back to the drawing board.

Clear the Wall – Do you have enough projectile pop to push your launcher over the top of the box? Proceed launchin’ troops, earn those wings!

Each character is unique and has their own specific role, and together, they’re a team with lots of character. With five character launchers to collect, make a splash this summer and try to successfully complete all of their missions.

You Never Let Go............TSMSS

I'm once again joining Amy for TSMSS .  This song has been on my mind alot the last couple of weeks.

There's not much change in Chris's condition.  They took the tubes out yesterday (Friday), but then had to put them back in.

Also a year or so ago I requested prayer for William with prostate cancer. He is still cancer-free.  But  his daughter (Heather) lost her baby girl at 20 weeks Thursday. 
Thank ya'll so much for the prayers, and words of encouragement.  Someone said to be a few days ago.  They were amazed at our strength, and our faith.  I know it's from the prayers of everyone that has given us the strength and peace that we have had through this.

Our summer so far

It's hard to believe that school starts back two weeks from today.  Where has the time gone?  We've been busy that's for sure.
It started off Memorial Day weekend with a trip to St. Simons Island.  Just Megan, Emily, Makayla, and myself.  A girl's weekend.  What few pictures I did take I can't seem to find. 

We have seen a couple of movies.

Last but not least so far, last week we visited Splash in the Boro, near our hometown.
